An Earthquake Destroys Villages in Eastern Afghanistan and Kills 800 People, with 2,500 Injured A strong earthquake in eastern Afghanistan has killed over 800 people and injured at least 2,500. A Taliban government spokesman says most of the casualties are in Kunar province, near the border with Pakistan.
