US Aviator Rescued as Trump Vows Strikes on Iran’s Infrastructure if Strait of Hormuz Isn't Reopened President Donald Trump has made new threats to escalate strikes in Iran, a day after the dramatic rescue of a U.S. aviator after Iran downed his plane. Trump demands Iran reopen the Strait of Hormuz, threatening strikes on power plants and bridges if it remains closed. Iran continues to strike economic targets in Gulf Arab countries.
